Keyfox Privacy Policy

Effective October 22, 2026 · Keyfox: Piano Lessons for Kids · Published by Ylemos Inc.

Short version: Keyfox does not collect, store on our servers, sell or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no third-party SDKs. Everything the app remembers stays on your device.

Who this app is for

Keyfox is a piano practice app for children ages 4–8, designed to be set up and supervised by a parent or guardian. It is listed in the App Store Kids category and follows Apple’s Kids category rules and the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Information we collect

None through the app. We do not ask for or collect names, email addresses, birthdays, photos, location, contacts, device identifiers or any other personal information, from children or adults. The app makes no network requests to our servers, and we do not operate any servers for the app.

Microphone

With a parent’s permission, Keyfox uses the microphone while a lesson is open to hear which piano note is played. Sound is analyzed instantly on the device to detect pitch and is never recorded, saved or sent anywhere. The microphone is off when no lesson is open. You can turn it off any time in Settings → Keyfox → Microphone; the app still works with on-screen keys.

Information stored only on your device

To show progress and the Parent Corner, the app keeps a practice history on the device: lessons completed, stars and stickers earned, and for each practice the date, length, song and number of missed notes. This data never leaves the device and is not linked to any identity. You can erase it in Parent Corner → “Reset practice progress”, or by deleting the app.

Notifications

If a parent turns on the free-trial reminder, the app schedules a single local notification on the device before the trial ends. No push-notification service or server is involved.

Purchases

Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details. Apple shares only an anonymous, on-device record that a subscription is active so the app can unlock lessons. Apple’s handling of purchase data is described in Apple’s privacy policy.

If you email us

Parent Corner → “Email support” or “Send feedback” opens your own mail app. We receive only what you choose to send: your email address, your message, and the app and iOS version that the app fills in for you. We use it only to answer you, never for marketing, and we do not share it. Please don’t include your child’s full name. Ask us and we will delete the conversation.

Third parties, ads and tracking

Keyfox contains no advertising, no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, no social features, no external links for children, and no tracking across apps or websites. Parent-only screens (purchases, settings, this policy) are behind a grown-up check.

Parents’ rights

Apart from any emails you send us, we hold no personal information, so there is nothing else for us to review, export or delete on our side. All on-device data is under your control as described above. If you have questions or believe information has been collected in error, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date, and describe material changes in the app’s release notes before they take effect.
